The French giant is closing 4 hypermarkets in Poland and reporting mass layoffs

The owner of Campbell soup and Goldfish crackers said it will close the Oregon plant in phases and expects to phase out operations by July 2026, with the first phase taking place in August of this year and including laying off 120 of its 330 employees.

Campbell Soup will carry out mass layoffs

Dan Poland, Campbell's Chief Supply Chain Officer, said: “To drive growth and transform our manufacturing and distribution network, we must invest in and continue to strengthen our supply chain […].

“We know this is difficult news for our teams in Tualatin and Jeffersonville. Any actions that impact our employees are taken with particular care and we are committed to providing support and assistance during these changes."

The company said the Indiana plant will specialize in Late July snacks and chip production will move to plants in Charlotte, North Carolina, and Hanover, Pennsylvania, resulting in layoffs of about 85 of 230 workers.

The manufacturer also said it will make approximately $230 million in capital investments through fiscal 2026 in more flexible and efficient facilities, which is expected to create 210 new jobs across the company.
