The American company Tesla will recall in China more than 1.6 million cars imported or produced in this country, Prime writes, citing data from the PRC State Administration for Market Control and Regulation. The reason for the recall was problems related to the safety of the machines.

“Starting today, a total of 1,683,627 Model S, Model X, Model 3, Model Y electric vehicles imported and manufactured in China between October 15, 2020 and July 17, 2024 will be recalled,” the regulator said in a statement.
In vehicles affected by this recall, if the front trunk is unlocked, the system may not recognize this and therefore not issue a warning that the trunk is unlocked. The regulator noted that the front trunk could swing open while driving, blocking the driver's view, increasing the risk of collision with other vehicles and creating a safety hazard.
