In July, the airport served 710 thousand passengers, which is one percent more than in July last year, including 22 percent of transit passengers.
Over the course of seven months, the airport handled ten thousand tons of cargo, which is eight percent less than during the same period last year.
Among the airlines operating at Riga Airport, 57 percent of the market is occupied by Latvian airBaltic, 25 percent by Ryanair, four percent by Norwegian, three percent by Lufthansa, and two percent by Turkish Airlines.
The most popular flights in terms of number of passengers this year were London, Helsinki, Oslo, Stockholm and Tallinn.
Overall, Riga Airport plans to serve 7.2 million passengers per year.
In 2023, the airport handled 6.631 million passengers, up 23.2 percent from the previous year but down 15 percent from 2019, when the number of passengers reached 7.798 million.
