Prior to that, he worked for Boden as its creative director for three years and held the same role at The Net-A-Porter Group for three years. He first joined the ecommerce platform in 2010 as an art director before he was promoted in October 2016.
Tala chief executive Morgan Fowles said Wetherell’s appointment marks an “exciting milestone” in the brand’s evolution.
“His extensive experience in industry-leading brands and publications, alongside his exceptional creative vision, will be instrumental in solidifying our position as a leader in the active-inspired fashion industry.”
Founder Grace Beverley added: “Jon’s visionary approach and deep understanding of fashion trends will be invaluable in shaping the future of Tala and our ongoing innovation in creating problem-solving pieces for women. I’m very excited to welcome him to Tala.”
Last year, Tala made its bricks-and-mortar debut with Selfridges, launching shop-in-shops across its department stores.
Shoppers can now purchase the brand from all four of the luxury department store’s locations, including Selfridges Oxford Street, a branded shop in Manchester Trafford, while it will also be housed in the women’s activewear department at Manchester Exchange Square and Birmingham.
