A survey commissioned by SEB Bank found that almost a quarter of young people in Estonia have saved more than 3,000 euros, but almost a fifth of young people have no savings at all.
“16 percent of respondents put aside up to 500 euros, just over 10 percent of respondents put aside 1000-2000 euros, and only six percent put aside 2000-3000 euros,” commented on the survey results Victoria Tkach, head of projects for the private client segment at SEB.
At the same time, according to Tkach, the fact that a fifth of young people have no savings at all is worrying. "It is clear that there are somewhat more such young people among 18-19 year olds, but in each age group, almost 20 percent of young people still have no savings," she added.
