Skin care products are the second largest category on the cosmetics market. It includes, among others, sun protection products, which are the most seasonal category. IBRIS Agency decided to examine the favorite cosmetics brands of Poles.

Nivea is the most famous brand of sun protection cosmetics in Poland

According to the IBRIS study, when asked: Which of these brands of cosmetics with sun protection (UVA/UVB filters) have you heard of, even if only by hearsay? The Bielenda brand was indicated by 72.2%; Dax Sun 33.9%; Derma 34.8%; Dermedic 48.3%; Eveline 65.5%; Garnier 71%; Isana 66.4%; Iwostin 39.2%; Kolastyna 63.8%; Lirene 56.7%; Mustela 18.6%; Nivea 77%; Pharmaceris 42.6%; Piz Buin 4%; Soraya 71%; Sunozon 20.5% and Ziaja 78.6%.

The TOP 3 most famous brands of sun protection cosmetics are:

  • Nivea
  • Bielenda
  • Garnier/Soraya

And which brands do we use most often? To the question: What brand/brands have you used recently? Bielenda was indicated by 16.6%; Dax Sun 7.4%; Derma 3.1%; Dermedic 6.9%; Eveline 16.3%; Garnier 18%; Isana 13.3%; Iwostin 4.4.; Kolastyna 14.3%; Lirene 12.6%; Inna 3.1%; Nivea 34.8%; Pharmaceris 8.7%; Piz Buin 0.4%; Soraya 14.5%; Sunozon 3.5% and Ziaja 30.9%.

According to Poles, the best sun protection cosmetics are those of the leader in the previous indications, i.e. Nivea (16.3%), followed by Ziaja (9.4%) and in third place by Kolastyna (7%).

Women are afraid of the harmful effects of radiation on the skin, men are more "relaxed"

The attitude of Poles towards the potential damage that can be caused by prolonged exposure to the sun certainly has an influence on the purchase of this type of cosmetics.

The harmful effects of radiation on the skin are definitely feared by 24.4% of respondents. Here, the largest number of indications are among women, almost 31% (men only 17%). Both rural and urban residents take the threat seriously. However, certain discrepancies are visible.

The harmful effects of solar radiation are definitely feared by 26.7% of rural residents, 21.2% of small town residents, 24.4% of medium-sized city residents and 24.9% of metropolitan residents. Does financial situation matter here? It turns out that it does. Because only 16.6% of respondents who assess their situation as very bad answered that they are very afraid of the harmful effects of radiation on the skin. Among those who are not worried about finances, such indications were as many as 28.8%.
