According to the latest study conducted by the International Agency for Social and Marketing Research (IASMR) in Belarus, 42% of Belarusians plan to use artificial intelligence (AI) in the near future. These and other data were presented at a conference on the practical application of AI, organized by the hosting provider HostFly.by.
Growing interest in AI
Anastasia Pechko, project manager at MASMI in Belarus, shared the results of a study that demonstrates a significant increase in interest in AI technologies among the country’s population:
- 13% of respondents definitely plan to use AI.
- 29% are inclined to use it.
- 70% of those planning to use AI intend to use it for personal purposes.
- 54% plan to use AI for work purposes.
“These figures clearly show that artificial intelligence is becoming an integral part of both the personal and professional lives of Belarusians,” comments Anastasia Pechko.
Age and gender trends
The study revealed interesting demographic trends:
- Young people aged 18-24 are most likely to use AI for personal purposes (43%).
- The 35-44 age group leads the way in planning to use AI for work (29%).
- Men are more likely to plan to use AI for work (60%) than women (40%).
- For personal goals, the gender gap is less pronounced: 52% men versus 48% women.
Current use of AI in work
Among those who are already actively using AI in their professional activities:
- 51% use it to find the information they need.
- 36% are used to create text elements.
- 16% use it in business correspondence with colleagues and clients.
- 15% create visual elements using AI.
- 14% use it to create video content.
Satisfaction and frequency of use
The study also showed high levels of satisfaction with AI results:
- 42% of users are completely satisfied with the results.
- 29% are rather satisfied.
- 27% are partially satisfied.
Regarding frequency of use:
- 5% use AI daily.
- 3% is used several times a month.
- 3% access AI several times a week.
Promising areas and investments
Respondents identified the following areas where AI implementation could bring the greatest benefits:
- Information technology (42%).
- Education (35%).
- Healthcare (35%).
- Marketing (34%).
- Transport (30%).
It is important to note that 73% of respondents consider it necessary to invest in training specialists to work with AI.
Anxieties and fears
Despite growing interest, Belarusians have expressed some concerns about AI:
- 21% are worried about people becoming dependent on AI.
- 19% are concerned about the uncontrolled development of AI.
- 18% fear an increase in unemployment.
“The results of the study show that Belarusians are not only actively interested in the possibilities of AI, but are also ready to implement these technologies in their daily life and work.
