State Duma deputy Nina Ostanina appealed to Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin with a proposal to introduce maximum price levels for school goods, Ria Novosti writes.

Ostanina proposed establishing the maximum permissible price level for school goods in the period from August 1 to November 1. In addition, it was proposed to consider the possibility of subsidizing the costs of such goods for families of SVO participants, large families, families with disabled children and single parents.
“At the same time, we believe it is possible to propose working on the issue of establishing a maximum maximum price level for school goods, especially in the period from August 1 to November 1, and also recommend that government authorities of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation take control of this issue, including constant monitoring of changes prices for the specified goods. We believe that it is necessary to consider the possibility of improving support measures for privileged categories of citizens, including large families, families in which a disabled child is being raised or one parent is raising a child (children), families of SVO participants, by partially or fully subsidizing the costs of school supplies,” – the appeal says.
It is expected that this step will help control prices during an important period for Russian families in preparation for the new school year.
Ostanina also proposed to study the issue of the feasibility of increasing the rate of import customs duties in relation to school goods from countries unfriendly to Russia, provided that such goods are produced in the Russian Federation and there is a sufficient quantity of them on the market.
