SPAR Slovenia will spend 40 million euro on expanding the warehouse of fresh products in Lubljana, increasing its space to 26 thousand. m² and improving the supply to its shops. Simultaneously in January it will open 10 new partner shops in the Štajerska and Pomurje regions, prioritizing local products and collaborating with regional enterprises. Meanwhile in Poland SPAR is going significant changes – the network has just changed operator.

Spar invests in new warehouse
Current distribution center network, located in near the commercial distribution BTC in the eastern part of Lubljana, has a area of 43 000 meters square. In its composition includes a warehouse of a area of 29 000 m² designed for durable products and a facility of a area of 14 000 m² designed for fresh products.
Under the planned expansion SPAR will increase the space of the warehouse by 20 000 meters square, of which 12 000 m² will be allocated for warehouse areas. Thanks to this the total storage capacity for fresh fruits, vegetables and other products will increase to 26 000 m². The remaining part of the new facility will be used for offices and other workspace.
The project is to be completed in the first half of 2026 year.
In the meantime in January the opening of ten new partner stores SPAR in the Štajerska and Pomurje regions. This is part of the SPAR strategy of cooperation with local enterprises in the purpose of reaching to more communities.
