
Agnieszka Majewska, spokesperson of small and medium entrepreneurs, wrote a letter to Prime Donald Tusk, expressing opposition to planned changes in the law on the Council of Social Dialogue (RDS). New regulations, proposed by the Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Policy, may significantly restrict representation of employer organizations.
Fewer employers in RDS
According to the revision project of the law, both the employers, and employers in the Council of Social Dialogue would be Represented only by the three largest organizations. O how much in the case of professional unions would mean to maintain status quo, by that the number of organizations representing entrepreneurs would be reduced from seven to three.
The spokesman of the MSP opposes such change. As he emphasizes in her letter, the widespread representation of employer organizations in
the RDS is the effect of development of civil society in Poland after 1989 and enables a multilateral
look at economic issues.

Each organization of employers represents a different group of stakeholders, has its own specialties and great capital expertise. Removal of any of the Council of Social Dialogue would mean weakening the substantive quality of this gremium and limiting the possibility of actual influence of entrepreneurs on shaping economic law -. advises Agneska Majewska.
The voice of small firms must be heard
One of the biggest threats of the planned amendment is elimination of the Union of Polish Crafts – an organization of multi-year traditions, representing 300 thousands of small family businesses. Such step would marginalize the voice of artisans and small entrepreneurs, who have been playing a key role in the Polish economy.
The proposed changes may lead to a situation, in which the voice of smaller firms will become inaudible. Dialogue.Social should take consider the diversity of Polish business, and not limit to the largest entities – warns Agneska Majewska.
