This year, salary growth in the information technology (IT) sector in Latvia was almost two times lower than last year. Moreover, almost everyone’s salaries are no longer increasing as much as they used to, says a study conducted by Figure Baltic Advisory, a company specialising in salary research and management consulting. The study also measured the average salary, which still stands out from other industries, but the findings indicate that more can be earned in neighbouring countries. Figure Baltic Advisory Senior Consultant Dace Tauriņa tells Delfi Bizness about which specialists have a chance of salary increase and what the future holds for those working in this sector. The survey involved 78 organisations, providing data on 16,280 employees. Figure Baltic Advisory conducts this study annually, and both information and communication technology (ICT) companies and internal IT departments of large organisations participate in it.
Slowing growth, but big bonuses. What's happening to salaries in Latvia's IT industry?
