Slovakia is not ready to lift the ban on imports of agricultural products from Ukraine

Słowacja nie jest gotowa do zniesienia zakazu importu produktów rolnych z Ukrainy

Yesterday, Robert Fico visited a farm in the village of Slovenska Nova Ves to check how the grain harvest is progressing in the country. During the visit, the Prime Minister made a statement in which he thanked farmers for their hard work and assured that Slovakia is not ready to lift the ban on imports of agricultural products from Ukraine, Sky News reports.

This is Fico's first trip outside Bratislava after the recent attempt on his life. The Slovak government introduced bans on imports from Ukraine at the national level following the EC's decision of September 15, 2023 not to extend restrictions on the import of Ukrainian grain. Last November Slovakia not only extended the ban on imports of agricultural products from Ukraine, but also extended the list of prohibited goods.
