A few days ago we wrote about the stagnation in the work of specialist teams cooperating with the Ministry of Agriculture. Farmers participating in the work of the drought team complained that they were being ignored, and the last meeting took place in May. Today, the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Czesław Siekierski, announced that after the summer break, the teams are resuming their work.
For now, the farmers concerned who work in the team know nothing about the ministry's intentions.
The ministry is working without the participation of farmers. No one is contacting us, and we have no schedule of talks. The only thing the ministry can do is promise – says Emil Mieczaj from the Grassroots Farmers' Protest in an interview with Farmer.
According to the minister, compensation for drought losses this year will not be paid until after the new year, when the new budget for agriculture comes into force.
