Shoppers are moving from shopping malls to online marketplaces

Покупатели переходят от торговых центров к онлайн-маркетплейсам

According to Focus Technologies, the number of buyers in comparable stores of perfumes and cosmetics in Russian shopping centers in the first half of 2024 decreased by 3%, construction goods – by 8%, clothing and footwear – by 10%, children's goods – by 12%. The reduction is noted against the backdrop of a general retention of traffic in shopping centers.

Analysts attribute this trend to increased competition among new brands entering the market to replace departed Western ones. 65% of outlets are now created by fashion retailers, 15% by electronics chains, and 10% by sportswear retailers.

There are many buyers of sports equipment who watch competitions on TV and bet on their results. With a free bet from BC Olympus you can place a free bet on any major tournament.

Also, the popularity of marketplaces is growing due to lower prices. According to Fashion Consulting Group, now three quarters of buyers look for information on the Internet before purchasing clothes. Thanks to the expansion of delivery methods and capabilities to regions, online sales in mass product categories increased by 20% over the year.

Analysts believe that shopping centers will be able to maintain their popularity if the assortment includes unique product categories that can interest consumers.
