Katarzyna and Daniel Malicky farm 370 hectares of soil of the 3rd and 4th quality class with varied topography. About 100 hectares are cultivated according to the principles of organic farming, and the remaining area has been cultivated without plowing since 2017. At the same time, farmers also conduct animal production in the form of a herd of sheep currently numbering approximately 1,100. These, in turn, are processed into meat themselves and then sold directly under their own brand.

Little "chemistry", crop rotation and sheep grazing on catch crops
As Daniel Malicki points out, he tries to limit the use of "chemistry" to a minimum. Instead, he uses manure on his fields, refined crop rotation, sheep grazing on catch crops, and applies humic and fulvic acids, which have previously proven successful in smaller-scale experiments. This year he also started using probiotics, which he intends to test in subsequent seasons on his farm. So far, these products have passed the test in the vegetable garden.
Sheep kept on the farm have a positive impact on crop production. What should be mentioned here is not only the excellent fertilizer that is sheep manure, but also animals grazing on catch crops. Daniel Malicki emphasizes that the yield of clover on which sheep were grazed is even twice as high as without grazing. Moreover, for now, only in the vegetable garden do farmers use the fertilizing and hygroscopic properties of sheep's wool, which is not only rich in nutrients, but also absorbs significant amounts of water and helps plants survive drought.

Sheep breeding and own processing
Since 2006, the Malickis have been breeding and breeding sheep. The initial 20 pieces have grown to about 1,100 today, and even to 1,500 at the peak of the lambing season. The main use of animals is meat, and Katarzyna Malicka set herself the goal of breaking the spell on lamb, which was once associated, as she emphasizes, wrongly, with meat of lower quality and with an unpleasant smell. He sees these negative associations in the once popular use of old sheep that lived for years in closed sheepfolds for meat, and the meat produced and sold in Komalwy comes, on the other hand, from lambs that feed on the vegetation of the surrounding pastures, which we had the opportunity to see with our own eyes.
