A tragic road accident occurred in Jaworzynka, on the provincial road DW 943.
The incident involved an Opel Astra passenger car and an Ursus tractor with a trailer. Initial investigations show that a 21-year-old resident of Cieszyn County was driving the Opel towards Jasnowice with two passengers. On a bend in the road, the driver was blinded by the sun and ran over a tractor traveling in the same direction, in which three people were traveling in total. The driver of the Opel was sober, the Silesian police reported.
As the uniformed officers add, all participants in the incident – a total of six people – were injured. Police, rescuers, professional firefighters and volunteers worked on the scene. A rescue helicopter and ambulances were dispatched, in which the drivers and passengers were transported to hospitals.
The agricultural vehicle did not have a roofed cabin. Unfortunately, one of the passengers in the tractor, a 40-year-old resident of the Istebna commune, died in hospital as a result of his injuries. The condition of the other participants in the incident is currently unknown – the police added. – Let us remember that not only bad and rainy weather affects road safety. The blinding sun can also contribute to an unfortunate incident and unexpectedly impede the visibility of a road user. Therefore, let us always exercise caution, concentration and prudence on the road, taking into account various scenarios and circumstances – they appeal.
