The innovative digital hub Wunder Digital conducted another study of the SEO effectiveness of Belarusian bank websites for July 2024.
How the study was conducted
The calculations were made as follows. SEO specialists:
- collected a semantic core of commercial queries related to the topic of banks;
- collected data on the frequency of these requests and combined them into groups;
- collected positions for key queries in search results (verification region – Belarus);
- calculated the visibility of the site using a special formula: the sum of the products of the frequency of each request, multiplied by the position coefficient (the higher the position of the site for the request, the higher the value of the coefficient);
- formed the final rating.

The rating reflects the overall effectiveness of bank websites in search engines. It includes not only the ranking in search results, but also the potential volume of traffic that the site can attract through search engines.
Belarusbank continues to lead: the visibility of its website in search engines has increased by 13.83 percentage points in 3 months. Alfa Bank, as before, holds the second place in the rating, having increased its indicator almost twofold in July (from 26.4%). Priorbank (+16.56%), Belgazprombank (+18.5%), VTB Bank (+15.65%) and others also made a leap forward.
Conclusions
- The websites of Belarusbank, Alfa Bank, Priorbank and Belgazprombank are leaders in overall visibility of banks in search engines.
- July demonstrates active changes in the rating: not only the absolute leaders strengthened their positions, but also those with average indicators.
- 8 out of 24 banks have low website visibility (less than 5%), and some have zero.
