Google searches for England shirts have soared 2,470% in the UK since England’s win over the Netherlands during the Euros yesterday, an analysis of Google search data reveals,
New data from BoohooMan showed the relative popularity of England shirts had risen 25-fold on Google Trends this week since England’s semi-final win.
The fashion retailer’s findings showed the spike in searches occured at 10pm as the team beat the Netherlands 2-1.
Additionally, searches for “football shirt” shot up 798% throughout the UK and 675% worldwide.
Search popularity for the England kit skyrocketed 1,314%, while further analysis revealed searches for “vintage football shirt” have hit an all-time high in the UK.

As well as shirts, “England flag” Google searches have jumped 1,642% ahead of the team’s final against Spain, according to the retailer.
A BoohooMan spokesperson said: “Success at the Euros has caused a huge surge in interest for England’s football kit and flag as Brits embrace national pride ahead of the final against Spain.
“Our research shows interest surged right after the game when England beat the Netherlands.”
He added: “Footy shirts are becoming more and more popular for everyday wear, with particular interest in vintage shirts hitting an all-time high.”
The Euros have boosted spend across the wider industry, with John Lewis TV sales skyrocketing before the 2024 UEFA European football championship kicked off in June.
Last month, Argos also reported it was expecting to sell four TVs per minute during the summer of sport.
