Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law banning the sale of non-alcoholic energy drinks, including energy drinks, to minors.
According to the text of the law, from March 1, 2025, it will be prohibited in the Russian Federation to sell non-alcoholic tonic drinks (including energy drinks) to minors. The ban applies to organizations, individual entrepreneurs, peasant (farming) households, as well as individual sellers.
The law will oblige sellers to refuse to sell such drinks if there is any doubt about the age of the buyer. In addition, the law establishes the right of the subjects of the Russian Federation to prohibit the sale of non-alcoholic tonic drinks, including energy drinks, in buildings and premises used for educational, medical, cultural and sports purposes.
Violation of this prohibition will entail liability, which will be established by law later.
