RTO growth rates began to decline

At the end of the first half of the year, retail trade turnover in Belarus remained positive, but the growth rate decreased compared to a month ago. The positive dynamics of RTO growth changed to negative for the first time.

Over 6 months, the growth was 11.5% in comparable prices compared to the level of the first half of 2023 (41.6 billion rubles). A month ago, +12.2% was recorded for January-May.

One-day retail trade turnover per capita since the beginning of the year amounted to 24.9 rubles compared to 21.7 rubles for the same period of the previous year.

Retail chains and organized trade accounted for 94.9% of retail turnover. The growth was 12.4% in comparable prices compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.

Wholesale trade turnover in the first half of 2024 amounted to 88.7 billion rubles, or 107.8% in comparable prices to the level of the first half of 2023.

The turnover of public catering in the first half of 2024 amounted to 2.9 billion rubles, or 111.7% in comparable prices to the level of the first half of 2023.
