to neighboring Bulgaria. Prices for fuel in Romania are steadily increasing. From the beginning of the year gasoline has risen by 21 bans (0.042 euros) per liter, and diesel fuel
by 36 bans (0.072 euros). According to the latest data, a 50-liter tank of diesel fuel is costing 18 lei (3.62 euros) more, than 1 January, and a tank of gasoline of the same volume is 10
lei and 50 bans (2,11 euros) more expensive. And in Bulgaria on the contrary – gasoline is cheaper by one lei (0,20 euros) per liter, and diesel fuel – and all
on lei and 15 bans (0,23 euros). So those who cross the Dunai, can save more
than 50 lei (10.05 euros) on a full tank. Economists noted that prices for gasoline in Romania
are increasing because the government has repeatedly increased excise on fuel. From January 1 the excise on gasoline increased by 17 bans per liter, diesel fuel by 16 bans per liter.
The rate has already increased on January 1 and July 1 2024 year. First January Romania and Bulgaria became members of Schengen. This decision
was taken after years of negotiations about the accession of Eastern European countries to the Free Zone of Free Travel. Before the accession to Schengen
