The Rigla pharmacy chain has completed a deal to acquire legal entities that own 375 pharmacies under the Farmani and Aptechestvo brands. Thus, the total number of Rigla pharmacy outlets has reached 4.7 thousand. All acquired pharmacies will continue to operate under their previous names.
Farmani and Aptechestvo pharmacies are located in eight regions of Russia, including Moscow and St. Petersburg. According to the terms of the deal, Rigla became the owner of 247 pharmacies in the Nizhny Novgorod Region, 37 in the Vladimir Region, 36 in the Moscow Region, 24 in the Mari El Republic, 20 in the Kirov Region, 8 in St. Petersburg and 3 in the Kaluga Region.
"This deal is one of the stages of implementing Rigla's strategy for qualitatively increasing its presence in the constituent entities of the Russian Federation. This step will significantly strengthen our position in the Nizhny Novgorod Region; we plan to increase our share in the region to 18%. In addition, the share of our network in the Mari El Republic will increase by 3.5 times, and by two times in the Kirov Region," said Boris Popov, General Director of Rigla.
