Financial technology company Revolut has received a provisional license to operate in the UK, so the company can take the next step towards operating in this country, writes Bloomberg. The regulator has granted permission to operate with some restrictions typical when issuing permits to new players. At this stage of work, the company will be able to test its systems, gradually introducing new services. The full operating license will soon enable Revolut to provide a range of loan and savings products to its more than 9 million UK customers. Revolut applied for a UK banking license for the first time in 2021. Revolut was founded in 2015 in the UK by entrepreneurs of Russian and Ukrainian origin Nick Storonsky (when the war began, he gave up his Russian passport and is a British citizen) and Vlad Yatsenko. It was created as a financial technology application for fast payments and simple, informal settlements. Since then, the company has grown to six thousand employees.
