In 2024, the children's toy market in Ukraine may grow by 10%
The Ukrainian children's toy market is being updated and demonstrates its ability to adapt and develop. Pavel Ovchinnikov, President of the Ukrainian Toy Industry Association, founder and CEO of the Kiddisvit group of companies, told delo.ua about this. According to him, after falling at the beginning of a full-scale war, the children's toy market began to recover and in 2023 grew by 20% compared to 2022. According to the optimistic scenario, in 2024 market growth will be at 10%. In general, the market for toys for children aged 0 to 3 years is shrinking, but the demand for toys for kidult – “adult children” aged 10–12 years – is actively growing. This category of goods in the Kiddisvit assortment is about 20%. The director of the Toy House chain, Roman Goroshko, identified the trends of recent years, in particular:
- the growing popularity of toys with national identity;
- increasing sales of premium toys, especially those where the whole family can play (construction sets, board games);
- demand for anti-stress toys.;
- decline in demand for seasonal toys (beach toys or for active outdoor games);
- relocation of consumers from the east and south of the country to the capital and western regions.
The Antoshka chain has temporarily closed all stores in Kharkov
On June 12, the Antoshka chain of children's goods stores announced the temporary closure of all retail outlets in Kharkov. In particular, Antoshka stores have closed on Grigory Skovoroda Street (formerly Pushkinskaya), 54, and on Nauki Avenue, 9. Also on the retailer’s website in the “stores” tab, the addresses of the chain’s outlets in Kharkov have already been removed. Antoshka notes that they remain working in the city online and hope to soon return to work fully.
In April-June, the MasterZoo chain opened eight new stores

In an interview with RAU, MasterZoo Marketing Director Tatyana Kornienko said that the company deliberately decided to open in cities that are under frequent shelling (Kharkov and Nikolaev). Since 2022, the MasterZoo network has grown by more than a hundred new retail outlets and currently has more than 200 pet stores in 36 cities of Ukraine and 15 grooming salons. Revenue in 2023 amounted to almost UAH 1.5 billion.
Zakaz.ua began delivering goods from the MasterZoo network
This is the first thematic delivery service partner in the entire history of the company, specializing in narrow-profile niche products. For the most part, the service’s partners included large popular grocery chains of supermarkets and hypermarkets in Ukraine. From May 16, residents of the capital and suburbs of Kyiv will be able to take advantage of delivery from the pet market. As demand grows and new audiences who prefer online shopping are attracted, the service will be expanded to other cities. Also at the end of May, MasterZoo began collaborating with the delivery service Glovo. In the same month, the retailer added another interesting service for customers in 20 of its pet markets, opening snack bars for pets.
The Toy House opened a store in Belaya Tserkov in the Hermes shopping center
On June 28, the Budynok Igrashok chain opened its first store in the city of Bila Tserkva at the address: st. Yaroslava Mudry, 40, Hermes shopping center. This is the retailer's first new outlet opening this year. The total area of the store is 273 square meters. m. Currently, the chain has 60 retail outlets in 21 cities of Ukraine. The store offers more than 5,000 products across all categories of toys. You can choose the best gift for both kids and older customers. Also on June 21, Budynok Igrashok resumed its store operation in the Solnechnaya Galereya shopping and entertainment complex in the city of Krivoy Rog after a missile attack. Epiland is the first children's amusement park from the Epicenter network
The Epicenter chain of shopping centers has entered a new direction: it has opened a family amusement park, Epiland, in Kiev. It operates in the capital on Polyarnaya Street, 20 D. The flagship Epiland in Kyiv has an area of more than 3,000 sq. m. m will become part of a large entertainment network, united by the theme “Travel in Space and Time”. Each of the parks will become a separate “teleport” for visitors to different worlds and eras. In particular, the first one “teleports” to the planet Pandora, where the events of the cult movie Avatar unfolded. The company plans to further scale up the project in shopping centers in Chabany, Bucha and Lviv. The main emphasis of the project is on entertainment for children under 12 years old and holding children's birthday parties. For adults, visiting the park will be free: you only need to pay for the child and, if desired, for a nanny service. The food court will offer dishes for both young visitors and adult guests.
The Fly kids network has opened a new entertainment complex in Dnepr
Another children's entertainment complex, Fly kids, with an area of 500 sq. m., has opened in the Neo Plaza shopping center. m. On the territory of the entertainment complex there are about 20 attractions and play areas with slides, labyrinths, trampolines and other equipment for lively games. Another important area of the park is a large family restaurant offering dishes from European, American and Japanese cuisine. A delicious and healthy children's menu has been developed separately. The complex has various themed banquet halls (minions, princesses, Among Us, Tik Tok, Marvel heroes and others). A new Kids Republic store opened in the Respublika Park shopping center
April 2024 brought many openings for the capital's Respublika Park shopping center. Several new stores and establishments began operating in the shopping center. One of them was the flagship children's goods store Kids Republic with a total area of more than 450 square meters. m.
