Eurocash Group has announced its financial results for the first half of 2024. The company emphasizes that it is continuing key projects to integrate wholesale businesses and modernize the Delikatesy Centrum store model, which had already been adopted in 30 locations at the end of the first half of the year. The Group is introducing it to more stores to improve customers' shopping experiences, better adapt prices and assortment to their needs, and improve the efficiency of space use.

– In line with the assumptions, the refreshed stores are achieving better results. The increase in the number of transactions in these stores is approx. 7% higher than in the facilities before the implementation of the new model. We believe that thanks to changes in the assortment and increasingly precise analysis of consumer needs, Delikatesy Centrum will become the number one brand in the proximity supermarket segment and the most consumer-oriented chain on the market. This is the goal of the DC 2.0 strategy – said Paweł Surówka, President of the Eurocash Group.
In the first half of 2024, Delikatesy Centrum Franczyza recorded a decrease of 0.5% compared to the first half of 2023. Own and Partner Supermarkets
fell slightly by 0.1%, while Inmedio rose by 6.5%.
How many stores does the Group currently operate? How is retail doing?
- External sales of goods realized by the Retail segment in Q2 2024 amounted to PLN 1,927.8 million and decreased by -3.7% y/y. In H1 2024, sales reached PLN 3,843.4 million and increased by 0.3% y/y.
- Retail segment EBITDA amounted to PLN 81.2 million in Q2 2024. Retail segment EBITDA in H1 2024 amounted to PLN 130.7 million.
- The increase in retail sales realized by “Delikatesy Centrum” stores in LFL terms amounted to -4.4% in Q2 2024 and 0.3% in H1 2024 y/y.
The number of small supermarkets at the end of Q2 2024 decreased by 1 and amounted to 1,595, including 889 franchise stores and 706 own stores. On the other hand, the number of stores under the "Delikatesy Centrum" brand amounted to 1,449 outlets at the end of Q2 2024.
The number of press kiosks operating under the Inmedio brand at the end of Q2 2024 amounted to 423 outlets.
