Итоги работы Comfy за I полугодие 2024 года: более 870 млн грн налогов, обновление 60% сети и 17 млн грн на ВСУ

Comfy, one of the leading players in the market of household appliances and electronics, summed up its work for the first six months of 2024.

As reported to RAU in the retailer's press service, among the company's key results are UAH 874 million in taxes and fees paid and UAH 17 million in support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and charity, as well as the renewal of 65 stores.

In the first half of 2024, the company increased revenue by 35% compared to the same period last year. The amount of taxes and fees paid during this period amounted to UAH 874 million, of which:

  • UAH 539 million – VAT;
  • UAH 335 million – other taxes and fees.

According to the results of the rating, formed in 2024 by the Association of Retailers of Ukraine and YouControl.Market, Comfy entered the top ten largest retailers in terms of turnover and took 13th place among companies with the largest amount of taxes paid.

Development and renewal of the network is one of the key factors influencing the dynamics of the company’s performance

From the beginning of 2024, the retailer:

  • opened two new stores in Alexandria, Kirovograd region and Berdichev, Zhytomyr region,
  • updated the flagship (more than 1000 sq. m.) store in the capital's Ocean Plaza shopping center,
  • restored two stores damaged as a result of Russian missile attacks (in the Dnieper Arpolo shopping center and the Solnechnaya Galeria shopping center in Krivoy Rog).

In addition, the company is actively updating existing stores. The main task of updating and reforming is to adjust the store to changes in demand and assortment and reconfigure processes in stores. In 2024, the reform’s tasks included updating the area for issuing online orders, which is required by a significant increase in the company’s online sales (in 2023, the share of online sales exceeded 30%). According to the new standards, the retailer has already updated more than 60% of the network (65 stores).

Thanks to the renewal and expansion of the assortment, the company's sales increased by 35%. The total market grew by 15.4%. The greatest growth is observed in the categories “Large Lifestyle”, “Small Lifestyle” and “Accessories”.

The last few weeks of the first half of the year saw a real boom in sales for charging stations. The increase was more than 2000% compared to the same period last year. At the same time, the retailer observed a certain reduction in demand for televisions and built-in appliances, which led to a boom in the first quarter. The prolonged and atypical heat for Ukraine also affected sales of cooling devices. First of all, air conditioners increased by 59%, even despite prolonged blackouts.

The retailer continues to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine and charity

Since the beginning of the year, Comfy has donated more than UAH 17 million to the needs of the Armed Forces. In particular:

  • 4.5 million UAH for large collections of large charitable foundations,
  • UAH 3 million for the restoration of the capital’s children’s hospital Okhmatdyt,
  • UAH 9.5 million worth of equipment was transferred to the Armed Forces,
  • UAH 320,000 from the sale of Comfy charity merch was transferred to the “Turn Around Alive” Foundation,
  • 80,000 UAH of their own bonuses were transferred by the chain’s customers to the “Turn Around Alive” Foundation.

Another important priority of Comfy’s strategy is improving customer experience

The retailer is systematically working to implement the best practices for interacting with customers. During 2023-24, many projects aimed at improving the quality of customer service were implemented. Comfy’s successes were noted at the first All-Ukrainian award for customer experience, Ukrainian CX Excellence 2024. The retailer received six awards at once. The company’s cases and practices were the best in the following categories: “Best practice of anti-crisis solutions”, “Best omnichannel experience”, “Best customer experience in a contact center”, “Best online customer experience”, “Best practice of using feedback”.

Based on the results of an independent customer vote, Comfy was chosen as the Lovemark company of Ukrainians in 2024 in the field of “Technology and Electronics”.
