The cost of transporting liquefied natural gas (LNG) by sea has decreased significantly due to the large supply of ships to transport it , reports Bloomberg.

The cubic meter tank 174 thousand cubic meters of gas cargo float in Atlanta basin on Thursday was down to 9,750 thousand US dollars on day. This is even 59 percent lower than one month earlier, Spark Commodities data shows. This is the lowest rate of all time for the category of ships.

“Prices decreased mostly due to the increased availability of the ships, emerging due to the increasing new buildings of ships on the market” – said Spark Commodities analyst Qasim Afghan.

The rate of new gas carriers in the market is faster than the GGD export controversy . Qasim Afghan also noted that the increase in SGD shipments from the United States to Europe had increased the number of ships transporting them in the Atlantic Ocean Basin.

Bloomberg notes that the reduced transport costs is good news for importers.
