- As every year, COBORU publishes the List of Varieties Recommended for sowing by province.
- LOZ are created on the basis of the results of experiments conducted as part of the Post-Registration Variety Experimentation, a system coordinated by COBORU.
- From this season, LOZ is an important recommendation for rapeseed growers who want to grow rapeseed in the Integrated Production (IP) system.
The condition for creating a List of varieties recommended for cultivation in the voivodeship in a given species is that an appropriate scope of PDO research and experiments is conducted annually in a given voivodeship or region and by the Variety Assessment Experimental Station. In the case of rapeseed, the network of experiments is dense and therefore the selection of varieties is wide.

Recommended rapeseed varieties for sowing
There are 41 varieties on the list, most of them are relatively young varieties. There is no point in looking for varieties that have been on the list for more than 5 years. Of course, hybrid varieties (F1) dominate, but there are also linear varieties (population varieties). This year, there are 7 of them. Importantly, in voivodeships where the problem of cabbage clubroot is already common in fields, COBORU recommends also using varieties that have resistance to the perpetrator of this disease confirmed in IOR-PIB research. The list includes 4 such varieties. Taking a closer look at the list, there are 2 varieties not registered in Poland, but coming from the Community catalog of varieties of agricultural plants.

- voivodeship Silesian – 18,
- voivodeship Łódź – 18,
The most frequently recommended varieties are:

The COBORU tables provide details of this list. The varieties were arranged depending on the frequency of selection in the LOZ, and in the case of an equal number of voivodeships, in alphabetical order. The tables for recommended varieties include the year in which these varieties were first recommended for cultivation in the voivodeship.

It is worth being aware that farmers who want to grow winter rapeseed in an integrated production (IP) system should read this list. From this season, this list constitutes an important recommendation for growers of this species. It was assumed that in the IP system, varieties from a given voivodeship should be particularly considered by farmers. Fortunately, farmers do not have to choose only varieties from this list. Varieties from the National Register (KR) and selected varieties from the CCA were allowed. We wrote about the details of these changes a few days ago.
