The most expensive cities of the world are Zurich, Lausanne
and Geneva in Switzerland. Tallinn takes 138th place.
Helsinki is in 58th position, Riga is 163rd, and Vilnius is 165th.
When compiling the ranking standard for comparison is the residence in New York, with which all other cities are compared. Cities are ranked by the index of cost of living, which is calculated by comparing different categoriesofexpenses(e.g.,spendingonhousingandpricesforproducts)andlocalpurchasingpower.
