- An agricultural producer who is interested in growing crops in the Integrated Plant Production system must report this fact to the certifying entity every year.
- Such notification should be made no later than 30 days before sowing or planting the plants, and in the case of perennial plants, by March 1 each year.
- Therefore, in the case of winter rapeseed cultivation, this is the last call to complete the necessary formalities.
There is a growing number of agricultural producers who want to grow their crops in the Integrated Production system. One of the crops that farmers are eagerly interested in is winter rapeseed. The requirements included in the IP methodologies for this crop can be reconciled with conventional protection. Additional payments that can be obtained under the eco-scheme: Integrated Plant Production (in 2023 it was approximately PLN 1,300/ha) may slightly improve the profitability of this crop. In order to obtain these subsidies, you must first become familiar with the formalities that must be completed.

You have completed the IP training, you can report crops
An important step is to complete IP training. Basic training is usually two days long. After completing the training, the manufacturer receives a certificate, which is issued for a period of 5 years. After this time, follow-up training must be completed. Having such a document, it is worth studying the IP methodology for winter rapeseed and deciding whether the requirements specified therein can be met. The most attention should be paid to the list of obligatory activities. The implementation of all requirements from this list should be documented in the Integrated Plant Production notebook (pages 96-97) of the current Integrated Production of Winter Rapeseed Methodology, which is available on the PIORIN website.

IP is 100 percent. farm inspection
It is worth knowing that by choosing the Integrated Production system, the farmer agrees to an inspection carried out by a certifying body. The condition for obtaining an IP certificate is a positive result of such an inspection. Every fifth farm (20%) is also checked for the highest permissible residues of plant protection products and the levels of nitrates, nitrites and heavy metals in plants. Plants or plant products from not less than 20% of plant producers entered in the register of producers kept by the certifying entity are subject to inspection, and in the first place, tests are carried out at plant producers suspected of not applying the requirements of integrated plant production.
