
Avto.ru Business analyzed data on electric cars and hybrid cars over the past six months. It turned out that their number is growing: collectively they occupy a share of 4.3% of all cars.

Over six months, the share of new hybrid cars increased by more than two and a half times: from 1.1% of all cars in January to 2.7% in June 2024. The share of new electric vehicles also increased, but less – by 0.2% to 1.6%. At the same time, among used cars, hybrids do not show a clear increase in their presence, while the share of electric vehicles increased by 0.4% to 1% of all cars.
Electric vehicles from China continue to expand into the market: over six months, their share increased from 64% of all new electric vehicles in January 2024 to 75% in June 2024. The second most popular are German (16%) and Russian (7%) vehicles. Among used electric cars, the share of American and Japanese brands is growing: while the share of Chinese electric cars decreased by 6% – from 48% to 42% – then the share of American and Japanese cars in this segment increased by 3% each and amounted to 18% and 15%, respectively.
Among new hybrids, the situation has changed slightly since the fall of 2023: the number of cars from China remains at 95%. They are followed by Japanese (2%) and German (2%) cars. Chinese hybrids have confidently occupied this segment and are not going to let it go, showing a 3-fold increase since the beginning of 2023.
Nikolai Ivanov, director of sales of new cars "Rolf" , notes that the obvious segment leaders can be called Zeekr and Lixiang. They occupy the lion's share of sales.
Data from Avto.ru Business confirms the information about the leaders. Among new electric vehicles, users are interested in Zeekr 001 (RUB 7,533,000) and Zeekr X (RUB 4,547,000), and Hongqi E-HS9 (RUB 10,041,000) also receives high user views. Among used cars, the most popular was also Zeekr 001 (RUB 6,527,000). In addition, users are interested in Tesla Model 3 (RUB 3,702,000) and Porsche Taycan (RUB 13,023,000).
The niche of hybrid cars is completely occupied by Chinese brands. The most popular new hybrids were Tank 500 (RUB 6,492,000), LiXiang L9 (RUB 8,969,000) and LiXiang L7 (RUB 7,567,000). Among used cars, the attention of users is attracted by Voyah Dream (RUB 7,325,000), Voyah Free (RUB 4,799,000) and LiXiang L7 (RUB 6,793,000).
