The main share of the retailer's electric charging stations (ECS) is located in the capital of the Northwestern Federal District. There are 21 electric filling stations connected here, which is 10% of the total number operating on the market. According to analysts, there are about 2,300 owners of electric cars living in the region, so during the year of the project, every tenth of them used the gas station of the retail chain at least once.
In addition, the number of partner operators participating in the project has increased. Now, fast gas stations for electric vehicles in convenience stores are being installed by Yandex, Touch, Moscow United Electric Grid Company and Punkt E.
EPS with a power of 60 kW are equipped with connectors of the CHADEMO and CCS standards and are designed for fast charging of two electric cars simultaneously within 30 minutes. Owners of such vehicles can use the PSK.Avto mobile application (in the App Store and Google Play), which allows them to reserve a place at the station, track charging status and control payments. The cost of one charge is 15 rubles per minute. Members of the X5 Group loyalty program can pay for services using accumulated bonuses.
“An electric car has long been not only a tribute to fashion and a sign of wealth, it is a new convenient and practical way to get around. Electric cars have emerged at the price of internal combustion engine vehicles, while maintenance costs, parking benefits and the cost of alternative fuels make ownership much easier. However, at the moment the infrastructure for the rapid development of the industry is not enough. That's why we continue to expand our network of fast charging stations to accelerate the transition to a low-carbon economy. Now our EPS are already operating in three regions in different parts of the Russian Federation, and in the coming months they will become available to residents of Kazan. Yes, we know that there are still questions about environmentally friendly disposal of cars and ways to generate electricity for charging stations, but reducing greenhouse gases during use provides a significant advantage for nature,” said Alina Yukhnevich, head of sustainable development of the Pyaterochka retail chain.
The project to develop infrastructure for electric vehicles is being implemented on the basis of the Pyaterochka with Care program. One of its main goals is to reduce emissions of harmful substances into the atmosphere, which corresponds to the principles of the X5 Group’s sustainable development strategy to promote responsible consumption and use of resources. The development of this type of technology contributes to the creation of a more sustainable and cleaner transport system.
