The collected signatures will be handed over to the Secretary of the Warsaw City Office, Maciej Fijałkowski. The collection initiative was supported by other freedom organizations, including the Civic Development Forum Foundation (FOR). Piotr Palutkiewicz, Vice President of WEI and initiator of the collection, emphasizes the importance of this campaign, noting that the number of collected signatures shows the broad support of Warsaw residents for maintaining the possibility of purchasing alcohol at night.
– We knew from the beginning that our arguments were based on data and common sense. The collection of signatures on the streets of Warsaw also convinced us that we have a huge community of residents of the capital behind us – says Palutkiewicz.
After the conference, the signatures will be handed over to the Mayor of Warsaw, which may influence the final decision of the city hall and potentially block the introduction of the planned restrictions.
