Czechs come to Poland for these products. "Prices several times lower"
Poland turned out to be cheaper, but it is losing its attractiveness
Seznama Zpráva's editorial staff made purchases in Lidl stores in the Czech Republic, Poland and Germany. Poland turned out to be cheaper again. However, our country, which was actually attacked by the Czechs due to low prices during the inflation period, is losing its attractiveness – diagnoses the website seznamzpravy.cz. For a regular purchase, the price difference may be quite small. And considering transportation costs, the visit may not be worth it at all.
In the previous test, which was carried out in July 2022, it was possible to save 343 Czech crowns (approx. PLN 50.30) by purchasing 27 basic food and drugstore products in the Polish Lidl. In March 2023, the savings reached CZK 309 (PLN 52.50). At the beginning of July 2024, the same basket purchased in Poland was only 100 crowns (PLN 17) cheaper. Moreover, fuel prices have gone up in our country, and Czechs also bought them from us.

For comparison, identical goods were purchased in Lidl stores in Frydlant in the Czech Republic, Bogatynia in Poland and Zittau in Germany. The basket included basic food products, such as baked goods, meat and cold cuts, dairy products, fruit and vegetables, non-perishable food and drugstore products.
The purchase in the Czech Republic cost 1,303 crowns (PLN 221.50), and in Poland 1,203 crowns (PLN 204.50). At the same time, it turned out that it may be even cheaper in Germany, at least in the case of a selected store in Saxony – the receipt amounted to 1,242 crowns (PLN 204.30).
