Lidl Polska cooperates with over 8,401 suppliers from Poland on a daily basis, which translates into a positive impact on the domestic economy. The chain's offer includes approximately 450 products marked "Polish Product". Lidl also takes care of the development of its own brands, which are produced by Polish companies, among others. One of them is Pilos – its own brand covering dairy products.
A wide range of Pilos brand products
The Pilos brand is created in cooperation with Polish dairies, among others, and its portfolio includes over 150 dairy products, which are available as part of the permanent assortment, seasonal products and a promotional offer, the so-called in-out. Most Pilos brand products come from Polish suppliers, and a large part of the assortment is marked "Polish Product".
The chain's broad portfolio includes milk (including fresh milk in a glass bottle straight from the farmer), cheeses, cottage cheese, butter, kefir, buttermilk, creams and yoghurts under the Pilos brand. Importantly, the offer also includes special lines: Pilos Pure – with a simple composition, Pilos Piratki – for children and Pilos High Protein – high protein.
Lidl Polska has various packaging weights in its promotional and permanent offer – e.g. smaller ones for singles and small households and XXL size for large families, including XXL cheeses in family portions (e.g. Tsarsky in XXL 500 g slices, salami in XXL 800 g slices, Gouda in 1 kg XXL slices), 1.5 l XXL Pilos UHT milk and osełka XXL 500 g butter.
Lidl's cooperation with Polish dairies
The basis of most Pilos brand products is Polish milk, coming from large dairies that are strategic partners in creating the company's own brand – including SM Mlekovita, SM Mlekpol, OSM Koło, OSM Piątnica and SM Spomlek, as well as smaller and local ones: Agrocoop, OSM Siedlce, Ciechanowska SM and MSM Mońki.
The Agrocoop farm is a supplier of fresh milk straight from the farmer, sold in Lidl Polska stores in glass bottles, under the Pilos brand.
– We are glad that thanks to the cooperation with Lidl Polska, our milk is available throughout the country. It is distinguished by its naturalness – the milk is only subjected to the pasteurization process, which is required by legal regulations. We deliver to Lidl Polska every day – the milk is milked in the morning and in the evening it is transported to the warehouses. This cooperation allows us to develop. Currently, we produce as much as 12 thousand liters of milk every day – six months ago we started with 5 thousand liters a week – says Paweł Zatylny, manager of the Agrocoop dairy.
Pilos products enjoy great interest from customers – their popularity is constantly growing. Tsar's cheese – produced by, among others, SM Spomlek – is the most frequently purchased Swiss cheese of its own brand in Poland.
– Our products are made from high-quality raw materials from the best Polish farms. All of this has a huge impact on the taste and aroma of the cheeses we produce. Thanks to our cooperation with Lidl Polska, among others, even more consumers can try our specialties – adds Jakub Piwoński, Sales and Marketing Director at the Spomlek Dairy Cooperative.
