The tragedy occurred on the night of July 12-13, 2024, around 2:00. A fire broke out in the production halls. Fortunately, no one was hurt at that time. All employees were evacuated from the plant, but production could not and still cannot operate fully. Despite this, the company's owner, Adam Klęczar, announced that there will be no layoffs, and the employees, even though they will work on a two-week basis, will receive full remuneration.

The fire in the factory and the announcements of its owner touched the hearts of Poles, who encouraged them en masse on social media to buy Beskid sticks and thus support the injured company.

The nationwide campaign was successful. Poles bought and supported the local manufacturer. Today, Aksam's owner talks about being moved. In an interview for the "Fakt" daily, he said that they did not expect such a reaction because their plans to retain their positions seemed natural to them.
What we did seems human, normal and obvious. We never thought for a moment to do otherwise. This caused a shock and made us famous, and in fact everyone – in a situation like this – should behave like this – he emphasizes.
