Poles on the increase in excise duty on alcohol and cigarettes
We asked Poles what their opinion was on the increase in excise duty on alcohol and cigarettes. 36% of respondents answered that they support the introduction of an increase in excise duty on cigarettes (this idea has the greatest enthusiasts among residents of the largest cities and people with higher education – 45% and 42% respectively), and 33% of respondents were in favor of a higher excise duty on alcohol (here again, residents of the largest cities are the most "for" – 42%).
In turn, 36% of respondents do not support increasing excise duty on alcohol or cigarettes (40% of surveyed men are against it; in terms of age group, the fewest supporters of this solution are in the 55+ age group – 40%). 18% of respondents have no specific views on this issue.

Excise duty increase and the grey zone
We also asked whether the excise duty increase would increase sales of alcohol and cigarettes in the so-called grey zone. Such concerns were expressed by the majority of respondents – 38% of the answers "rather yes" and 29% "definitely yes". Only 13% of respondents said that this would not happen ("definitely no" – 3%; "rather no" – 10%). The answer "hard to say" was given by 20% of respondents.
Night-time sale of alcohol at gas stations
Our next question concerned the sale of alcohol at petrol stations at night. The Ministry of Health wants to ban it. What do our respondents think about this? 34% of respondents support this idea (43% of respondents in the 55+ age group, 47% among residents of the largest cities, and 38% of women also support the idea).
