An Indian company imported and sold fruits and vegetables with pesticide residues in Estonia without any problems. And this was back in winter. The owner of the company has still not been found, and the Department of Agriculture and Food is planning to make a public statement about the dangerous fruits only now. That is, six months after the dangerous fruits were apparently sold and eaten by residents. Rus.delfi.ee investigated how this is possible. A sample taken from a batch of mangoes showed that the residues of the pesticides chlorpyrifos, omethoate and dimethoate in the fruits exceeded the permissible limit by several times (from 1.5 to 6). Such a quantity is considered dangerous, and the International RASFF Notification states that the danger is serious.
