The so-called an honorary pension for people who are over 100 years old is granted pursuant to the decision of the Prime Minister of 1972 and is treated as the so-called benefits by way of exception. To obtain them, seniors had to contact the insurer and only after obtaining its consent did they receive the benefit. Now it will be guaranteed by law.
At the last government meeting, it was decided that the amount of the benefit would be PLN 6,246.13 gross per month. It is to be indexed annually, starting from March 1, 2025. The indexation will be based on the same principles as in the case of indexation of pensions and annuities.

Higher retirement age? The ministry does not rule it out
The benefit will be available to people who:
- have Polish citizenship,
- have turned 100 years old
- on the last day of the month preceding the month of payment of this benefit, they are entitled to a pension benefit.
Seniors who are not entitled to a pension or an annuity paid by pension authorities will also be entitled to receive an honorary benefit. However, in their case it will be granted upon application.
There are currently over 6,000 people living in Poland. people who are over 100 years old.
