Prices in Biedronka
The Biedronka chain offered 50 basic products at PLN 398-404 depending on the city. Back in May, prices ranged from PLN 380 to PLN 384. This means an increase of another PLN 20 after the price jump that we recorded in May. A year ago we paid approximately PLN 372 for the same purchases, which means that it is currently PLN 30 more expensive. The difference between Biedronka and Lidl's closest competitor is only PLN 5 in some locations, so it can be said that the discount chains that have gone to war on prices are neck and neck.
Prices in Lidl
In Lidl, 50 products from the basket can be purchased for PLN 404. This is PLN 10 more than in May this year. (PLN 392). Apples and potatoes have become more expensive in Lidl, but tomatoes have become cheaper. A year ago, during the holidays, we paid about PLN 386 for similar purchases, which is currently PLN 18 more expensive.
Prices at Aldi
In Aldi Koszyk, 50 products cost PLN 422.5, which is PLN 12.5 more than in May (PLN 410). Compared to the 2023 holidays, when similar purchases cost PLN 383, it is currently nearly PLN 40 more expensive year-on-year. Recently, the prices of coffee and chocolate, lemons and toothpaste have increased significantly.
Prices in Net
Currently, at Netto we pay PLN 430 for purchasing products from the dlahandlu.pl shopping cart, which is PLN 5 more than in May this year. (PLN 425) and PLN 30 more than during the holidays in 2023. Recently, the prices of coffee, bread and chocolate, orange juice, apples and lemons have increased here. However, Gouda cheese became cheaper. Netto has been on the Polish market for 28 years. It currently has over 660 stores, after taking over Tesco supermarkets and changing them to the new format of Netto discount stores.
What is the Trade Price Cart?
Monitoring carried out on the weekend of July 5-6, 2024 by dlahandlu.pl surveyors. The Dlahandlu.pl Price Basket study has been conducted for 14 years. In 2013, the European Commission recognized that it was "an example of good practice in the price comparison market". Since the beginning of 2014, monitoring has been carried out on dates known only to the portal's editorial staff. If an item is missing from the list, the replenishment price is based on the average market price (price from the last month). Prices converted from larger and smaller grammages to those indicated in the Price Cart.
