The disease was confirmed in the town of Wężówko, the Budry commune, which administratively belongs to the Węgorzewo poviat. This is an area covered by the red zone, which is a consequence of two pig ASF outbreaks that appeared last year in the neighboring Banie Mazurskie commune. Importantly, more than 12 months have passed since these outbreaks occurred and the abolition of the zone in this region could be expected any day now. Unfortunately, the last outbreak put an end to these plans.
