The new concept hotel with studio apartments Novotel Living, located on Poordi Street between the port and Tallinn Old Town, held a topping out ceremony. The hotel, which is being built by the development company Estmak Capital, will open next autumn. The topping out ceremony marks an important milestone in the development of the project, which is located on the tourist route between Terminal A of the Port of Tallinn and Tolstaya Margarita. The event was attended by the construction partner NOBE and representatives of the owner of the Novotel Living brand, Accor Group. During the ceremony, a traditional wreath was laid and those gathered expressed their gratitude to the builders. In her speech, Estmak Capital CEO Tatyana Arkhipova emphasised the importance of working together: “The successful construction of the first aparthotel in the Baltics in Tallinn is evidence of exemplary cooperation from all parties. Our partners really gave it their all.” NOBE Construction Director Priit Nigols highlighted the logistical challenges associated with the heavy traffic in the port area: “The road works and the desire to disturb local residents and businesses as little as possible made the work quite challenging. I am glad that we managed to stick to the schedule. I would like to thank all the partners involved.” The concept of Novotel Living is based on creating a cosy homely atmosphere and opportunities for a pleasant stay. The premises, intended for both short-term and long-term stays, are more reminiscent of stylish designer apartments. They often have a separate bedroom where the whole family can stay. The apartments also have a full kitchen for preparing home-cooked meals. The common areas and club room encourage daily socialising – you can get to know your neighbours and make new friends. The building will also have a gym and a large underground car park. Along with a restaurant and lounge area, the ground floor of the 130-room hotel, located on the tourist route from the port, will feature commercial space with large shop windows, some of which have already been booked. The city’s main attractions and business districts are just a 5-minute walk away. The hotel, which is aiming for LEED Gold certification, emphasizes its sustainability with solar panels, geothermal heating and modern cooling systems. Tall rooms and floor-to-ceiling windows let in plenty of natural light, thereby reducing energy costs. The six-story apartment hotel on six floors with a total area of approximately 13,000 m2 will be completed by September 2025. The timely achievement of the building’s maximum height and the holding of the rafter celebration demonstrate the meticulous planning and ability to stay on schedule.
