Opposite the main gate of the Põhjala plant, construction of the large-scale residential complex Marati Kvartal has begun. In total, it will have 76 guest apartments, commercial premises, a large 24-7 Fitness gym, a wide promenade and a spacious park area. The developer is Scandium Kinnisvara, and the construction is being carried out by Fund Ehitus. The residential complex will be completed in the autumn of 2025. Maido Luiste, founder and partner of Scandium Kinnisvara: “Marati Kvartal is a very large and interesting project, in which we are creating both guest apartments and commercial premises. In essence, this is the first milestone in the implementation of the Bekker Port development project. The nearby Põhjala plant, which is becoming increasingly diverse, is a well-functioning environment where hundreds of people are already employed. In the evenings and on weekends, the area becomes even more lively, attracting tourists from near and far. Marati Kvartal will also create an opportunity to purchase an apartment in this area and be among the first to benefit from the advantages of this rapidly developing region. Reigo Marosov, CEO of Fund Ehitus: “The end of the Kopli Peninsula is already a familiar area for us. We have worked successfully on the Kopli Lines for a long time, and now we are pleased to have the opportunity to make a significant contribution to the development of Marati Street next to the Põhjala factory. This is a special urban space in the context of the whole of Europe, which will soon become a new centre of attraction in Tallinn.” The Marati Kvartal buildings will be four storeys high, with underground parking. The upper floors facing the sea will offer views of the sea, the opposite shore of the bay and the harbour. The residential complex will be the first landmark and gateway to the large seaside area of the Bekker Harbour.
