The threat of pryszczyca is very serious.

In the PFHBiPM’s assessment, the spread of this disease in our country would have catastrophic effects on both breeding cattle, like and cattle pigs, considering the fact that these are the two main sectors of animal production in Poland.
– In this situation it is necessary to immediately take all possible preventive measures, not waiting for detection of cases of flu in our country. In this case an excessive precaution on certainly will cause less harm than allowing

Can the movement of animals be halted?
In the existing situation PFHBiPM expects the Chief Veterinarian to immediately implement in Poland the ban of moving animals of threatened species between farms, as also put pressure on the European Commission for the purpose of stopping the border movement of animals of threatened species.
– We are aware of theThe fact, that implementing the postulated restrictions will incur economic costs and complicate the operation of very many farms, in whose animal production is based on material imported from other farms in the country, 1or from abroad. We are however convinced that in view of
the severity of the threat that would create by an epidemic, there is a need to adhere
more to the sentence , “it is better to prevent than to cure” – Leszek Hądzlik summarizes in thesent letter.
