Today, the E1.ru portal reported on a mass strike of Ozon workers in Yekaterinburg. About 70 drivers refused to go on the road—that’s almost all the marketplace couriers in the city.
The reason for the strike was inadequate shift lengths and low wages. “ Late delivery of goods, loading begins at 10–11 am, and long-distance routes are forced to work until 12:00 at night, or even later. Payments for additional work are delayed; some couriers have not received payment at all. Payment for large-sized goods is 2 rubles per piece, the weight of which can exceed 30 kg ,” comments one of the Ozon couriers.
The Ozon press service strongly refutes any “massiveness” of this strike. “ The information that the company is delaying payments is not true. Moreover, the payment corresponds to the volume of goods delivered, that is, with an increase in the number of deliveries, it grows ,” the company commented, adding that the strikers demand a meeting with Ozon management from Moscow.
