- The so-called honorary pension for persons who have reached the age of 100 is granted pursuant to the decision of the Prime Minister of 1972 and is treated as a so-called exceptional benefit.
- To obtain them, seniors had to contact the insurer and only after obtaining its consent did they receive the benefit. Now it will be guaranteed by law.
Honorary retirement – when and for whom?
It was decided that the amount of the benefit will be PLN 6,246.13 gross per month. It is to be indexed annually, starting from March 1, 2025. The indexation will take place on the same principles as in the case of indexation of retirement and disability pensions.

Higher retirement age? The ministry does not rule out
The benefit will be available to people who:
- have Polish citizenship,
- are 100 years old
- on the last day of the month preceding the month of payment of this benefit, they are entitled to a pension benefit.
Senior citizens who are not entitled to a pension or an annuity paid by pension bodies will also be entitled to receive an honorary benefit. However, in their case, it will be granted upon application.
There are currently over 6,000 people over the age of 100 living in Poland.
