The KOWR Regional Branch in Olsztyn has quite an offer in its tender schedule for September. A farm measuring a total of 203.7486 ha of land, of which 182.5 ha are agricultural land, will be put up for lease. The farm is located in the Januszewo area, in the Susz commune, in the Iława district.

The auction is scheduled for September 12 at the KOWR headquarters in Olsztyn. The starting price for rent is 860.01 dt of wheat, and the minimum bid is set at 43 dt.

Utilities and buildings

As we read in the announcement, the property is to be distributed through an oral restricted tender, which means that only individual farmers operating in the Susz commune or neighbouring ones who want to expand their farms can bid.

The specification shows that this is a developed agricultural property. Arable lands constitute 84.37 ha and these are mainly soils of class IVa and IVb. Permanent meadows constitute 26.8 ha, and permanent pastures 62.99 ha. Wooded lands constitute 16.9 ha in total, lands under ditches constitute 3.18 ha, and wastelands constitute 4.33 ha. A little bit of tar in honey

"The plots constitute a compact area unused for agricultural purposes" – we read in the advertisement, and this is the first spoonful of tar in this "miracle-honey" offer. The areas are drained, but the facilities require renovation, we also learn. The buildings are in sufficient technical condition, but the former horse riding school located on one of the plots is overgrown with weeds.

Some of the plots are located within the palace and park complex, which has been included in the Provincial Register of Monuments. Any construction work carried out on these plots must therefore be agreed with the provincial conservator of monuments. Some of the plots also lie within the boundaries of the Iława Lakeland Protected Landscape Area and in the vicinity of protected bird habitats.
