Миллион евро выделят на пожарную безопасность в домах

As part of a joint project between the Rescue Department and local governments last year, fire safety was improved in 302 houses throughout Estonia. In this year the state is allocating a million euros to improve the fire safety of homes, with the contribution of local governments.”The need for improving fire safety in homes is great, the most common problems are with heating systems, and also with electric systems. Every home that has become safer, helps prevent possible fires, and I am glad, that we can make many people’s homes safer, ” says Advisor of the Pilleryn Kurg Rescue Department. Last year, the homes that participated in the project, required service, repair or
replacement of the heating system, including plates, furnaces and chimneys. There were a total of 184 184 heating systems repaired, 66 – electric systems, 42 homes needed repair or construction of new heating and electric systems. One 1 detector for stoves and 9 gas boilers was installed. More than 1.3 million euros have been spent on improving the fire safety of homes. An additional Million euros has been allocated for this year’s Homes Safer project from the State budget, which is being supplemented by a contribution from local authorities. Local governments may apply for these grants. The maximum amount that can be applied for is up to 6,000 euros. The “Safer Homes” project, started in
2018 year with cooperation of the Rescue Department and local governments, is aimed atEnsuring fire safety in homes where the residents are not able to help themselves – first families with large children, older people, living alone, and disabled people. The need for
support is determined in the joint work of rescuers and the local authorities – rescuers assess the fire safety of the home at the time of consultation, and local self-governments determine the needs of the residents for assistance. At the today the
support in the project has been provided to 2726 homes across Estonia. Consultations on fire safety issues can be asked through the safety portal THERE or on the information government
