This September event annually brings together producers of golden grain, farmers from the Podlaskie province and representatives of the scientific world. On the experimental fields of PODR Szepietowo we will present a rich collection of corn varieties and provide professional advice from experts from breeding and seed companies.
The Power of Corn
Corn is one of the most important feed plants in the nutrition of dairy cattle. In Podlaskie, the most developed branch of agriculture is dairy farming, which is why the cultivation of this plant is such a key element in our region. Selecting the right variety of corn grain is one of the most important factors in shaping the size and quality of crops.
During the National Corn Day in Szepietowo, participants will have the opportunity to compare as many as 146 different corn varieties, deepen their knowledge of cultivation and matching the variety to their needs. Assistance and expert advice will be provided by advisors from the Podlasie Agricultural Advisory Centre in Szepietowo and representatives of 25 breeding, seed and distribution companies from all over the country.

National Corn Day is not only a presentation of the latest achievements in agrotechnics, but also a platform for exchanging experiences and best practices. The program includes numerous lectures.
Representatives of the world of science and practitioners from the agricultural industry will share their knowledge on innovative methods of corn cultivation, plant protection and sowing and harvesting technology. Participants will be able to learn about the latest trends in corn production and the challenges farmers face in its cultivation. Attractions include tasting of corn specialties prepared by the Rural Housewives’ Association as part of the “Tastes of Corn” promotion.
Podlasie Agricultural Advisory Centre in Szepietowo is organizing a competition for the heaviest cob "How much does a corn cob weigh?" We encourage farmers to bring the largest corn cob from their own plantation to the competition. After weighing the cob, Bayer Sp. z o. o. will award the winners of the competition.
We will learn about the results of the competition for milk producers "Safe handling of farm animals" organized by KRUS Regional Branch in Białystok and PODR Szepietowo.
