Старый диван – вторая жизнь: IKEA открывает новый бизнес

Swedish manufacturer of furniture and household IKEA plans to expand its activity in the European market for used furniture, considering the high demand for such goods, Euronews reported.Earlier it was reported that the company has launched two pilot projects – platforms for selling used furniture IKEA Preowned in Madrid and Oslo. Now plans are to expand
them to all Spain and Norway. “It is working – people like it,” – said the head of IKEA’s
largest franchisee Ingka, Jesper Brodin to the Financial Times. “We decided to expand the project: from Madrid – to all Spain, from Oslo – to all Norway. In the next few years, we plan to introduce this service in other European markets,” he said. According to Brodin, the platforms
in Madrid and Oslo attracted about 200 000 visitors, which lead to thousands of purchases. Sellers can upload
information about items, add photos and set prices, and the IKEA database with artificial intelligence helps categorize advertisements. Buyer receives furniture directly from the seller, who can choose one of two two ways to pay in real money or an IKEA coupon with 15%

bonus.
